Renewed And ImprovedPreview
Ratchet and Clank have been romping through the galaxy for three console generations. In that time, the duo has had its share of highs and lows, but next year's theatrical release could send Insomniac's gun-toting heroes into a new stratosphere of fame. In conjunction with this hopeful feature film, Insomniac is reimagining the original Ratchet & Clank game for the newest generation of hardware. Thankfully, this game is more than just a quick HD port - it has enough new content to virtually make this a new experience from the heroes' first outing back in 2002.
Ratchet and Clank are busy across the galaxy for three console generations. While the duo experienced ups and downs, but in the next year Insomniac heroes can go into a new stratosphere of fame. Perhaps this release will be rethinking the original Ratchet & Clank, and the game for a new generation of consoles. Fortunately for us, this game - more than just HD-remake: it contains the new content and is, in fact, almost completely altered the game.
During the E3 demo, we sat on Hovertrain in Metropolis and used grapple line to swong across the gaps as flying cars whizzed by in the background. The most interesting element of any Ratchet & Clank - is, perhaps, an interesting weapon: for example, Groovatron - weapons, forcing the enemy to break into disco, or Pixelizer - a new weapon that disperses enemies, turning them into low-resolution cubes. Moreover, Insomniac revealed a new weapon-upgrade system, borrowed from the role-playing games.
One of the most surprising aspects of the new Ratchet & Clank - a beautiful view. There have always been great videos and I would not be surprised if they are indistinguishable from the upcoming movie.
New Ratchet & Clank is a retelling of the history of the origin of the galactic duo, Captain Quark's version, but there is so much content that even those who are familiar with the original game, may want to make a return trip to the Solana galaxy.
